It uses all the latest-generation Kong ascender components. 
It provides excellent locking on particularly muddy ropes thanks to the emptying slots on both the cam and the side plate. 
The new material and a special thermal and chemical process give the toothed cam, in addition to its black color, a much higher surface hardness.
The result is greater wear resistance and a reduction in the brittleness that usually affects hardened steels at low temperatures. 
The new opening catch is ergonomic, easy to operate, and highly protected from impacts and accidental opening.
